GE Digital (Vernova)

Project Services Intern

During my tenure at GE (Digital) in Venova, Cambridge, my role evolved from shadowing to leading, and I had the privilege of working across multiple time zones, including EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), EUPR (Europe and Pacific Rim), Asia, Eurasia, NZ (New Zealand), and AUS (Australia). This global exposure not only broadened my horizons but also honed my ability to effectively collaborate with teams from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Moreover, I had the opportunity to take full ownership of the development of the Atlassian suite, which included the renowned project management and issue tracking tool, Jira. This was a significant responsibility that allowed me to oversee the entire development process, from conceptualization to execution.

I utilized Jira as a pivotal tool to manage and track progress throughout the development lifecycle. This involved implementing best practices in project management, ensuring that timelines were met, and maintaining clear visibility into the status of various projects.

In addition to this, I initiated groundbreaking initiatives that leveraged industrial data to perform complex analytical and geographical tasks using cutting-edge Geo-spatial technology. These initiatives led to outstanding outcomes for clients, showcasing the value I brought to the organization.

I also championed and led technical projects utilizing Agile workflows, consistently bringing new ideas and approaches to the table. I ensured that the highest quality technical writing skills were utilized to maintain technical information, contributing to the excellence of our projects.

Collaboration was a key aspect of my role, and I collaborated with a variety of directors across GE Digital within the business on numerous projects. I often took the lead and used exceptional interpersonal skills to deliver successful outcomes.

Furthermore, I led multiple teams across the globe in different time zones, driving the projects forward with a clear vision. I utilized agile workflow tools like JIRA to ensure project milestones were met and key stakeholder expectations were exceeded.

From June 2022 to july 2023, I proactively learned and adapted to multiple proprietary languages, such as Magik, and skills used in the energy and Geo-spatial industry. This demonstrated my exceptional technical aptitude and ability to bring new solutions to the table.

I also demonstrated proficiency in using various cutting-edge cloud-based services such as Open AI, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Atlassian, and more to achieve exceptional project outcomes.

My commitment to technological advancement was evident as I showcased technical achievements at various tech product shows, representing GE in Europe and the UK. I presented the latest advancements and breakthroughs to a wider audience.

Negotiation and collaboration were essential skills in my role, as I engaged with multiple stakeholders, from directors to third-party stakeholders, to ensure deliverables were met across the board. This resulted in successful project outcomes.

I initiated a groundbreaking project that uses machine learning, which is currently being implemented into GE Digital services and is utilized by Distribution Networks Operators across the country and network providers.

In addition to my extensive technical skills, I developed expertise in a wide range of programming languages, including C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, React, HTML, CSS, and Python. I constantly expanded my knowledge and skills to stay at the forefront of the industry.

My experience with Cassandra was particularly valuable, as I used it to extract, transform, and load large-scale datasets. I also utilized it to analyze and visualize data, resulting in improved business operations and insights.

In summary, my tenure at GE (Digital) was marked by remarkable growth, leadership in global projects, proficiency in cutting-edge technologies, and a strong commitment to driving innovation and delivering exceptional outcomes.
